We build curriculum and source lecturers for university blockchain courses.
University students have scarce opportunities to learn about blockchain technology. Most schools offer few to no accredited blockchain courses, and students require structured incentives to take and teach unaccredited classes. We collaboratively devise curriculum, align individuals across disciplines, and strategically advocate for the accreditation of blockchain classes.
We organize conferences exploring blockchain fundamentals and cutting-edge topics.
We organize virtual and physical conferences focused on educating the masses about blockchain's nature and the broad scope of problems the technology can solve. From verifiable data ownership to decentralized governance to open finance, we focus on blockchain's wide-ranging applications and how they are currently evolving. BAF rigorously vets participating companies and designs agendas suited for all levels, from beginner to expert.
We source sponsors and mentors for university-affiliated hackathons.
We host technical blockchain hackathons (blockathons) at universities that equip engineers with the tools necessary to build decentralized applications on various blockchains. BAF strives to maintain a blockchain-agnostic approach because competition drives innovation in both the enterprise and public domains.
We connect students to research opportunities and provide a platform for academic blockchain researchers to share topics, grant opportunities, and more.
We are building an ontology learning tool with techniques from formal concept analysis, to classify academic research being done in the universities across the BAF network. We do so to detect and identify research trends and potentially facilitate collaboration between researchers working in related capacities.
We source sponsors, speakers, and resources for university-affiliated events.
We aim to foster a culture of collaboration that transcends university boundaries and allows new ideas to flow freely. Some of the ways we do this include: organizing virtual educational meetups, hosting casual public calls, offering free or subsidized tickets to conferences, building accredited curriculum, and sourcing speakers for events.
We provide tax incentives to crypto donors.
By co-organizing events and initiatives with our member organizations, we enable hodlers and enthusiasts to donate crypto to tangible accelerate cryptocurrency and the decentralized web.
